Albufeira Attractions
Albufeira Castle - Most of the castle was destroyed by an earthquake in 1755, But the remains of this moorish fortresss are an interesting collection of walls and rooms. Around the town you will find much evidence of the Moorish occupation in the archetecture and many churches and chapels.
Zoo Marine - A great family outing is to be had at this fine zoo to the north of town on the N125. There is not only regular animal shows, but a fairground, pool, play area and restaurants in a huge area with plenty of places to picnic.
Slide and Splash - Located just north of the town on the N125. Plenty of tubes, slides and rapids to keep the whole family happy for a day. This facility is large and doesn't get too crowded.
Albufeira Church - This church is a landmark in the old town and the tall bell tower overlooks the area. Most of the town was destroyed by the earthquake in 1755, but they rebuilt this church.
